Biography

Ashraf Abdul Ghafour is an Egyptian actor who got the acting diploma of the High Institute of Dramatic arts in 1963. He is married to his cousin with a son, Taamer, and a daughter, Reeham, who is also an actor. He started his career playing stage roles like; “Gulfidaan Haanem i.e. Lady Gulfidaan (1962)”, “Soulymaan al-Halaby (1965)”, “Thalaat Layaaly i.e. Three nights (1965)”, “Mawta bela kobour i.e. Dead with no graves (1966)”, “Masra’ Guevara i.e. Guevara’s death (1968)”, “Watany ‘Akka i.e. My Homeland Acre (1968) and “Al-naar wal-zaytoun i.e. Fire and olives (1969). 1967, Abdul Ghafour debuted in TV playing in the series “Al-Kaahera wal-naas i.e. Cairo and the people”, he also participated in a number of tV series such as; “Do’aa al-maady i.e. The prayer of the past”, “Hessaaby ma’al-ayyaam i.e. My account with the days”. “Nofous mo’ath-thaba i.e. Tortured souls”, “Zahrat al-gabal i.e. The flower of the mountain”, “Moghaamaraat Meesho i.e. Meesho’adventures”, “Muhammad Rassoul-Allaah i.e. Muhammad, Messenger of Allaah” and “Al-Imaam Maalek”. Ashraf Abdul Ghafour was awarded in Saudi Arabia and won the first prize for his role in “Al-mowagaha i.e. The confrontation”.
