Biography

Fenar Ahmad came to Denmark in 1986 as an Iraqi refugee. At the alternative Danish film school Super16, he directed the short film "Megaheavy," which was selected for the Berlinale and screened at a large number of festivals. The film was honoured with a Danish Robert award for best short fiction. He graduated from Super16 in 2010. In 2014, Ahmad's debut feature film, "Flow," premiered at CPH PIX and screened at London Film Festival. The revenge drama "Darkland" marked his second feature. Since then, he has directed the live action adaptation of the Danish comic series "Valhalla" and a sequel to "Darkland." Ahmad has also directed a few documentary films and music videos.
