John Ortiz Wijdenbosch (Paramaribo, 25 April 1973 - Lelystad, 28 May 2017) was a Dutch actor of Surinamese descent. John Wijdenbosch came to the Netherlands at the age of 16. Initially he wanted to be a rapper, but by coincidence he applied for a role in the Fort Alpha series. In 2001 Wijdenbosch played in Costa, Monte Carlo and Bradaz. On May 28, 2017, he and his wife and daughter were killed in an accident on the A6 motorway near Lelystad after he had landed in the water with his car.
