Biography

Maciej Ślesicki (born 1966 in Warsaw) is a film director, screenwriter and producer, and an esteemed teacher. He is the founder and Chancellor of the Warsaw Film School. He won the Golden Duck award, and the Best Director award at the 1995 Polish Film Festival in Gdyniafor his film Dad. In 1997 he received the distributors’ award for the box-office success of his film Sara. Twice he was nominatedfor an Academy Award for producing Our Curse and The Dress. He is the producer of the award-winning film,Preserve. He initiated many actions to support film debuts. His latest production is the high-profile film, The Land, made together with students and graduates of the Warsaw Film School.
