Biography

Riko Knut Henrik Eklundh, born March 17, 1965, in Helsinki, Finland, is a Finnish actor. He became a student at Lärkan High School in Helsinki in 1984 and studied at the Theater Academy in Helsinki from 1985 to 1989. He worked at Åbo Svenska Teater between 1989 and 1994 and made his breakthrough in the title role in "Amadeus". He then worked as a freelancer for ten years, mainly at the Swedish Theater in Helsinki but also at the Little Theater, the Viirus Theater and the Espoo City Theater. In the years 2005–2011, he was employed at the Swedish Theater and again from the autumn of 2014. Of the characters Eklundh has interpreted can be mentioned, in addition to Amadeus, the main roles in Topelius, Peer Gynt, The Dancing Priest, The King's Speech and We Are Only Men and in the musicals The Little Horror Affair, La Cage aux Folles and Cabaret. In addition to stage roles, he has appeared in dozens of TV series, films and radio programs. Eklundh has also collaborated with a number of choirs, both as a conference and soloist. He regularly appears in Yle Vegas "Eftersnack" and in "Efter nio" on Yle Fem. Since 1999, he organizes the annual concert event Sommarsång in Åboland's cut-out churches with Nötö church as a base.
