Biography

He graduated from the acting department of the Tashkent Theater and Arts Institute named after A. N. Ostrovsky in 1949 (now the State Institute of Arts of Uzbekistan), from the acting department of GITIS (All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography) named after A. V. Lunacharsky in 1954, and in 1959, he completed the Higher Directing Courses in Moscow. From 1954 to 1956, he worked as an actor and assistant director at the Kazakh Drama Theater. He also acted in films, including playing the role of Grandpa Illarion in the film We Are Adults (1980). In 1959, he became a director at the Kazakhfilm studio. From 1959 to 1982, he was the director of the Kazakhfilm studio.
