Biography

An Egyptian actor and writer, born in the village of Al-Mashaya, one of the centers of Assiut Governorate, in 1915. He began his career in cinema through the film (Mohamed Ali Street) in 1944, and since then he was known for many secondary roles in cinema. His characters varied between the policeman, the naive villager, the street vendor, and many others. He can be recognized through the films (The Green Threshold, The Second Wife, The Laughing Crime, and The Madmen in Bliss). Abdel Ghani El-Nagdy participated in writing the story and screenplay for the film (Agaza Bel-Afyia) and the dialogue for the film (Banat Bahri). He also participated in writing the songs for the film (The Secret in a Well). He died in 1980 at the age of 65.
